Meet the Author
Hi, I’m KaT B.
Writing has been a dream of mine since I was a child.
Long before I understood anything about publishing, I knew stories could stay with you. Books gave me somewhere to go, people to care about, and sometimes the words for feelings I had not figured out how to say out loud.
That is still what I love about fiction. A good story can tell the truth without preaching. It can make messy, complicated people feel real. It can hold fear, grief, humor, survival, and hope all at once.
I write upmarket psychological suspense about intimacy, evidence, survival, and the systems that make women question what they know. I am drawn to women who pay attention, keep records, endure more than they should, and slowly find the courage to tell the truth in their own voice.
My debut novel, THE DOOR, follows a Black housing advocate whose careful record-keeping becomes both her protection and her risk when an online romance scam and an institutional housing scheme begin to overlap.
I live in Georgia, work in behavioral health care coordination, and am a member of the Authors Guild. My work with people who are unhoused in Atlanta has shaped the way I see housing, mental health, and survival. I care deeply about bringing attention to the national housing crisis and to the way mental health cuts affect real people here in Georgia, especially those trying to survive without a stable place to live.
